Testimonial | FAQs Testimonials Life-saving Device on the Job at Multi-Tech Systems "As part of our company's safety committee, I was trained as an emergency responder, but I hoped I would never need to use my skills. Then the call came. One of our employees, Paul Corcoran, was unconscious in his office. My only thought was that Paul needed help and everything I learned in AED training came to me in an instant. I knew Paul was depending on our emergency response team and the AED to save his life. I was the first member of our company's trained emergency response team to respond to the call. I arrived at his office, held him while he experienced small seizures, and watched him dying in my arms. Another safety committee member immediately brought our AED to the scene I was so relieved, I knew there was hope for Paul. After determining that Paul was unconscious, not breathing and had no pulse, I connected the AED electrodes to him. Our Cardiac Science AED took over from there. It determined Paul was in ventricular fibrillation and prompted me to push the button to deliver a shock. I did, and Paul's heartbeat returned to a normal rhythm. Paul is alive today because our company had an AED. The AED was purchased as a part of our safety program, which is directed by an 18-person volunteer committee dedicated to making our facility as safe as possible for our more than 380 employees. I have been involved with the program from the very start because I know workplace injuries are common and easily preventable. All of us at Multi-Tech are so thankful that we were able to save Paul's life. We also feel comfort knowing that we are prepared if one of our employees needs help again."
